By By Rattlecans...

I'm going to take the jump to an airbrush for painting my plugs. The little 2 ounce bottles of Createx paint. Do any of the various types need to be diluted at all before use? (ie: transparent, opaque pearl)

Anyone use Testor enamels thinned with mineral spirits?

John .. hang onto your rattle cans .. superior paint ,,imho .. I've gone to base coat with rattle cans and bells and whistles with airbrush .. bells and whistles = scales, dot eyes, pogey dots ,,pink lines..

I've since dropped the bells and whistles and been just going base coats .. yellow ,,white, blue/white,, fish are not that fussy ..

I'm hanging on th the rattle cans. I got too many of them... If the nozzles would just stop clogging up... Yeah, it's the detail work I want to play around with, but I think you're right. Basic colors work pretty good. Question. Do you put a layer of epoxy or other kind of sealer between your oil based base coat and the water based createx paints?

No in between ... you can put createx over rattle can paint ..(when dry ofcourse)...
you can't put rattle can paint over createx ..

I do use an epoxy sealer before all this ..

not too thick with the createx ..

You are going to dig the airbrush.........It'll open up a new realm for you......Mixing colors, fine designs, etc.....Not to mention the "less toxic" factor. Good luck with it
