Registration Now Open for The Habs Classic

The tournament tickets, Habs pins and the registration/weigh-in forms were delivered today - oops, yesterday (Saturday) - to Edwards B&T on Connell Hwy. in Newport and The Saltwater Edge on Valley Road in Middletown. Joe and/or I will be delivering the contest materials to Tim at Quonny B&T on Route 1 in Charlestown on Monday for you SoCo guys. Those are also the three official weigh stations.

JohnR is also going to do online registrations here at S-B.com using PayPal and will be putting up a thread for that shortly.

So, to sum up the half-dozen sticky threads we already have:

- The fee is $15 and includes a very nice enameled Habs pin with prizes to be awarded to the largest bass by certified weight, for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers. The tourney will run from 5:00 PM Friday, October 10th to 9:00 AM Sunday, October 12th.

- There will be a kick-off Meet and Greet at Flo's Clam Shack on Wave Avenue in Middletown Friday night starting at 5:00 PM for those of you that want to get together on their second floor deck overlooking Easton's Point and the Cliff Walk for some excellent chowder and clamcakes followed by the special $9.95 Prime Rib (or seafood of your choice) before going out. It was a favorite spot of John's.

- The Awards Ceremony and Charity Raffle will be at The Coddington Brewing Company on Sunday starting at 4:00 PM until whenever - and the donations for the raffle items have been very generous, to say the least. Any of you who know the stories about the Blooberry Factory know it was always a great time with Habs and the crew

- Proceeds from both the entry fee and the charity raffle will benefit the Hasbro Children's Hospital's Tomorrow Fund to help critically ill children and their families, a cause that was important to both John and Jess.

Well, that's it - we tried to keep it simple so we could just get together, have fun, catch fish and remember a friend.

All in all, it will be a great way to remember a great guy

John:
Where's the online registration? i can't drive 150 mile r/t to register. At 18 miles to the gallon it'll cost me $40 in gas alone.

No boat, back in the suds.
