Oct. 20 too late for Nantucket

I live in California but have family in Nantucket. Considering a visit around Oct. 20 for a few days but would like to fish a bit as well. Would Oct. 20-25 or so be too late for fall run this year? Any thoughts... ? Thanks.

I dont know about Nantucket, but considering Im north in Boston, things are typically good thru October, as long as water temps are in the 50s. A mean storm can end things early though. So, based on my limited expertise, your in a nice window to get into some large fish.

I would say you have a real good shot at some good fish. Even if things peak earlier in the month, there are certain to be some fish around.

The odds of hitting it solid are good. The chances of the fish being 'gone' are very small - barring any major storms, etc.

My dad and his buddies used to fish out there every year on the week of Halloween. He tells stories of some big fish that were caught.
