Looking through my collection of old stuff, I found I still have a
set of custom made rod racks that fit on the luggage rack when I had my cherokee.
They were made by the machinist where I used to work. All aluminum (painted black) with thick pads for the equipment. they scissor open and closed like the ski racks on the yuppie cars.
We made them specifically for the luggage rack so the clamp is shaped kinda oval for top and bottom clamping. (??hard to explain in words).
I used them when I used to surf fish alot. The back rack is high so the reel could hang down without touching the roof, the front rack is shorter. Highway tested at 70+ MPH.
with 11' rods. It will probably hold 6 big rods, it goes all the way across the roof.
I don't know what they are worth, but they are useless to me.
