Increase in Commercial Striped Bass quota

I just saw this post on the CT River Stripers Message Baord:

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On Dec 19, (tomorrow) the ASMFC Striped Bass Management Committe will meet to consider as part of the finalization of Ammendment 6 to the striped bass fisheries management plan, an increase to the commercial fishing quota. It is not to late to let our CT fisheries managers know that as recreational anglers, we are strongly opposed to such an increase. I urge you to e-mail the Marine Fisheries Director in your state and ask them to vote no to any proposal for such an increase. Tell them that there no biological, socialogical or economic benefit for an increase at this time.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just thought I'd pass it along.

Regards,
Rob
