I have seen new guys come to this sight including me, we post a question or a comment and we get stepped on by some of the others that have been on this sight for years. The same guys that thing they own all the shoreline.Thereare alot of guys on this sight who are more then willing to answer a serious question.
This post will most likley be closed.
This will be my last post and comment who cares anyway right.
I know a few people who wont even come here because of how they have been treated on this sight.

I'm sorry you feel that way. Care to post a thread that demonstrates what you are saying? Yeah, it might happen from time to time in the winter...but that is the exception, not the norm here. If a post involves spots, locations, or access, it is kind of an unwritten rule that it be quashed and dealt with or discussed through PMs. A thicker skin is recommended in the winter months, but at least it isn't full contact like on some other sites. Have you been able to attend aby of the functions or trips? Stick around and drop me a PM if you have questions or comments you would like to put up.

Sorry you feel that way . As far as people go , Its the same mixed bag here as anywhere else . I always think, there's no such thing as a dumb question . Who knows why people respond the way they do sometimes . Maybe a bad day at the office ,, maybe a good day . .Sometimes personalitys just clash . Not everyone is perfect , like us ..

i was just kidding with the summer remark, it is winter by the way, and the cabin fever leads to some random silliness from time to time

Ignore Duke - he's a cantankerous PIA anyway

Seriously (seriously, ignore Duke) its one of the disadvantages of being online and not having a face to face with someone is that it gets harder to tell when someone is breaking stones. And while I don't want to make an excuse for it this is also winter

Flip side of the coin, some new people jump in and want to go from Noob to Sharpie in 20 posts per day and ask, and even demand people give up their best info to people they have never met...

Its a balance thing... In the end, probably good to not to get too upset about it as it is just the Internet. It is a tool (for tools ) that will help you, let you meet similar minded folk ()lot of that goes on here), and it is one of those places where you will get out what you put in...

This site is much more friendly than the largest site. There are many sites out there and you are correct, some people just aren't friendly like on the shoreline. Don't let those arragant people turn you away.

Remember they want the whole shoreline to themselves, don't give in it's a free country and people talk tough on the internet.

Ignore me, how dare you sir. I think it is time to show your young non fish catching ass a lesson. Next summer largest striper officially weighed in in a certified scale.. The winner gets wings and beer for 6 friends at Hooters showcase of breasts. Put up or shut up Johnny Boy.

Lovetwofish: Please don't let the smartasses and know-it-alls get to you. Some of these bafoons can't help trying to show us how smart and witty they are.
Ignore the negative comments, as there are always some very good and helpfull posts mixed in with the nonsense.

Don't be discouraged, my friend. Take what you need and leave the rest. Always be kind and try not to retaliate to the silliness, just take it for what it is.

Be encouraging, not discouraging

I am not sure what specific gripe you have as I really try not to read as much as I use to but its hard to believe that anyone would sour on this particular site
I find members here to be more polite then most other places I visit.
Hey,if they treat a googan like me with some sense of respect then you know there are good people here.

I think the off-season here has been exceedingly mild so far. Stick around. Stick around Ilovetwofish if JR feels bad enough he might take you to one of his favorite spots.

I just read the Duke41 reply to Ilovetwofish's post/question, Dukes reply to me wouldn't have raised an eyebrow. Duke41, like me, both of us think we are a lot more funny than we actually are. In truth I think I am friekin hilarious.

On the other hand the only line freeze problems I run across when fly fishing. Ice on the eyes and line, phooey.

Too bad! You should stick around Ilovetwofish. I have learned alot on this website and I have tried to give pointers also. I do agree that it can get a little dicey sometimes but alot of that is good natured joking and, JR was right, not being "face to face", I can see were thing s can get misunderstood. Hang in there Iloveto fish. I think the majority of the membership are good guys and gals who just love to bass fish.

Yer on big guy, but Boat Fish Don't Count, so now whatchagonna do? But seriously (a word I have tough time using with you nyuk-nyuk, wink-wink, snicker-snicker) I release 99.9% of my fish because I'm not dragging most fish a mile back to where I parked and nothing personal, while I may keep a rare fish for a tourney I'm not killing a fish for a side bet to Hooters. Woe to us, such times are these that a man with 400 posts might take Clammer seriously. Lost in the desert we are, I tell ye, excepting Eddy who is probably lost in the dessert. Why this site is a sight that would'th make a fourth grade spelling teacher retch and vomit, methinks. An abhorrent thing, where bait fishermen and spinning rod fairies feel free to pontificate, belching forth their vileness, splendiferously smug in their repugnance. Where canal water s#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&g unwashed eel fisherman, soulless pogy soaking lowlife, and hormonally contorted plastic plug fisherman hold court, caressing each other's sticky egos while the Great Banished eelSatan smiles approvingly. Alas, or a lass if you got one to spare, sad lonely times are these for us honest, God-fearing, handsome, clean-conscienced fellows with only our large plug collections and a nice inflatable doll to give us comfort. You have done right in leaving, son, ......now go forth and fish wood plugs so ye too shall be saved.....but crush your barbs and release all fish just to be sure.
Amen

Smartassery is part of the atmosphere here. Try to keep in mind that fishing is supposed to be fun and funny, if it isn't, it's another job. Literal, virtual, and comical, the three planes of existance here....Relax this is a fun ride.

Twofish,

I left the other big site due to racism. 99% of my posts there were either giving or receiving info and hints about the gear we use and collect. It got to the point where I did not feel good about being part of that site. You will find jerks everywhere you go in life, but at some point you need to stand up for what you believe in. Anyway, I left that site for this one and have never looked back.

I received a warm welcome here. Some times a fellow may type quick and not come off the way he intended. I think this site is full of good guys. Please stick around.

I felt the exact same way when I started looking here. I eventually came to the conclusion though that most people here are ok and a lot are really nice and helpful. My rule is that once someone says something rude or uncalled for I just ignore that person and move on; no rebuttal or ongoing arguement I just ignore it. All the online fishing sites seem to have a few jerks who wanna tell you how amazing they are and why you're too stupid to live (the big boating site comes to mind) so I think you just have to ignore those to get the most out of the site. There's a lot of good info here so it's worth having to deal with a few bad apples.
