chuming the hole
this ice fishing when perch fishing i was dropping smelt guts and perch eggs in my tilt holes for added stink.i'm not sure but i think it helped .it seamed to keep the fish around in the area.....what do you think ,does it matter ????

Yes. We used to chum with a little sprinkle of oatmeat for perch. Bring 'em right around. No reason why guts wouldn't work.

Perch seem to really love areas where there's a lot of smell and action. It seems like when you start catching perch it attracts more perch so chum would definitely help there.

Old Indian trick for ya......stick your butt in the hole and blow bubbles.....I hear it works great........they pop right out the other holes like a geyser hit 'em.

crushed egg shells soaked in fish oil work well also...another good attracter that works as well as any bait is an air stone..... drill a hole a few feet away from where your fishing, using a portable airator, drop a stone down below the ice.... any fish in the area will be attracted to the bubbles....
