Who Is Paying The Bill?!!

Who exactly is paying the bill for our involvement in Iraq??? Is the Iraqi government kicking in or are we paying the entire fair??!!! Obama says he wants to remove half the forces by next August however we will still need to supply the Iraqi's with weaponry.......are they paying for these items???

Almost time to get our fish on!!!

You are.

It's funny too because the high oil prices have made the Iraqi government a lot of money, I think they were looking at a 70B+ surplus last year.

Of course the same people who got us into this mess, who are spending hundreds of billions to rebuild a country who probably won't like us very much in the end...seem to be quite reluctant to spend money to nation build here at home.

Spending for Iraqi children = spreading freedom
Spending for American children = socialism

Pocket change by Congressional standards, but that's more than their GDP before we invaded!

At the very least they should be paying us back with some free oil.

Cost right now about $600 billion.

just so everyone knows- each of us, if we pooled our money together to pay off our national debt, would have to fork over 35 grand.

That was one of the "selling points" on Iraq.
I believe the "plan" was:
-invade Iraq
-secure the country
-find those WMDs Saddam is stockpiling (where are those anyway)
-secure the oil production sites
-receive highly discounted oil
-rejoice that we spread democracy and took down an evil dictator

Red face

We, our kids, our grandkids, and out great grandkids will be paying this bill.

He that would make his own liberty secure, must guard even his enemy from oppression; for if he violates this duty, he establishes a precedent that will reach to himself.
