PENN FISHING REELS AND RODS HAVE BEEN SOLD BY THE FAMILY THAT OWNS THEM.SEA SRTIKER AND ANOTHER COMPANY BOUGHT THEM OUT.FACTORY IN PA. IS SUPPOSED TO REMAIN OPEN.TIME TO THINK ABOUT BUYING VS.OLD PENN GREENIES WILL NOW BE MORE COLLECTIBLE.SAD DAY FOR PENN TACKLE FANS.

WAS IN TACKLE SHOP TODAY,OWNER SAID NEW PEOPLE AT PENN ARE OK AND SHOULD DO WELL.PENN SELLS TO DISTRIBUTORS WHO IN TURN SELL TO TACKLE SHOPS,IT SEEMS DISTRIBUTORS ARE NERVOUS THAT PENN WILL ELIMINATE THE MIDDLE MAN AND SELL TO SHOPS DIRECT.LOOKED AT NEW SMALLER SLAMMERS AT 12.5 OZ ANTI REVERSE AT ABOUT $120-SEEMS YOU COULD REPLACE STRATIC4000'S PENN 4-5000SS SERIES REELS AND HAVE A BETTER REEL-JUST MY .02

I just got back from the show in SC and talked with one of the new owners from Penn #^&#^&#^&#^& Henry.
#^&#^&#^&#^& Henry who ownes Sea Striker and former owner of one of the largest tackle suppliers Henry's tackle in NC.
He is a class act and has a reputation of turning companies around.
