Fishing Report (Trout)

Took the daughters trout fishing this weekend to Melville pond and to a local river, struck out at Melville but caught 2 at the river. my oldest had to release hers as it was a lil too small, while her sister's ended up as her dinner. We had a great time!! They can't wait for our first stripers of the season. We will keep at it, until we get em.....

My son just got back from Atlanta where his Robotics team, #121 Rhode Warriors, won their division in the FIRST Robotics Nationals competition, but lost in semi finals. Out of over 300 teams they finished 4th, so they did very good and Dad's real proud of him.

Looks like a fun day on the water.

Everything is better on the rocks.

Great pics. Nothing better than spending time with them outdoors. Congrats to your son.

Looks like a great day. I went trout fishing in Northern Vermont with my 16 year old this past weekend. No fish, but a great time.

I went trout fishing on Saturday. 3 of us fished for 4 hours and only one fish.

We all thought with the warm weather that we'd kill fish.

Great to see your girls interested in fishing and spending time with Dad...

Tell 'em not to feel bad about Melville - hit it twice so far, nada

Saw probably 30 people fishing between both trips, grand total = 2 small 'bows...

The Melville stockies are small it seems - 12" or so

I guess the catastrophe at the hatchery last winter put a good dent in what they had to stock with - also heard that they almost didn't stock Melville due to water temps being so low this year -

Both ponds are real cold still - might give it a shot later -if I don't do a schoolie check...

Gotta love Mondays off...

"There is no royal road to this heavy surf-fishing. With all the appliances for comfort experience can suggest, there is a certain amount of hard work to be done and exposure to be bourne as a part of the price of success." From "Striped Bass," Scribner's Magazine, 1881.
