Exclamation totally Nasty new Mosquito

this is what they look like ok

the Asian Tiger mosquito

they transmit a very deadly virus that's much worse than west nile
and the others...even malaria....they are already here in fact.

symptoms are welts, vomiting . bone aches and worse

Lemon eucalyptus oil sold by Amazon is an alternative to being
totally covered with deet which works........ but makes fishing difficult.
you definitely don't want this virus!!!!!

makes swine flu look like a vacation @ disneyland

this is the worst thing i've ever seen coming.

They've been here for years, and are a royal PIA.
Compared to our native skeeters, which you feel land and which take their time biting (giving you a chance to swat them), these tiger mosquitos are much more aggressive. They land and bite almost simultaneously, will fly in your face, eyes, ears, nose and mouth looking for a biting site. They will follow you around waiting for a chance to strike. Even after LIBERALLY applying bugspray they will repeatedly try to land and bite. (I call it getting "tagged" since they don't land long enough to swat. I would be willing to bet that since they are bigger than our "regular" skeeters, thier lavae are larger, and would probably eat the smaller larvae in their "dog eat dog" environment.

This is just one more reason to be vigilant at disposing of all standing water on your property. You'd be amazed at how many skeeters can breed in just a 1/2 cup of water.
