Black over purple 7" Mambos
Does anyone know where I can pick up some of these babies. I can not find them in my neck of the woods.

tattoo, these plugs cringe when just my presence is near. they know the wrath that my korker will do to them. and you think i have a stock pile of them? ha! i'd rather fish with a dry hook.

I don't understand why you hate them because they catch fish where I live and big ones at that. Anyways I'm still looking

Rag,
It was a joke between Seawolf and myself.
Yeah they catch fish, but they also crack and the rear hook hanger comes right out. Poor Quality.
Sorry to lead you a stray.

Hmmmmm, I have never seen those problems. Hopefully I don't. I do replace the split rings and hooks.

the breakage has to do with the actual body breaking, not a problem with the split rings or the hooks. take a look at a mambo that is transparent. the hook hangers only go into the plug 1/4" at most! i had a pile of mambos without hook hanger building up until i found a replacement for the niche they fill. i have lost far too many quality fish to those plugs to continue throwing them! (unless i'm throwing them in the trash!) i have one black and purple somebody gave me last year. if i can find it, it's yours ragfly. just don't expect it to hold up to anything better than a schoolie.

now you see why i do not like mambos in the least, ragfly. any lure can fail from time to time, but mambos fail far too often. i tried them the first year they came out and had the same problems toby and tatoo talked about and have since no longer used them. i know a shop that has a pile of them that have failed. need any more proof? i'll take a bomber anyday over a mambo.

I have a wall full of Mambos that split right down the middle.
I also have another collection of the front halves of jointed Redfins--except the belly hook is on the front half, so at least ya usually get the fish.

Too bad about the mambos. They come in some nice colors that bombers don't. Oh well...
