New Front Page Challenge
OK, tired of being jealous (snark) of Vic & Mike, let's have a new front page for August - User Submissions - Get a fishy pic up that says something for August. Can be from previous years but how does it tie into August...

We caught these in July which is the month before AUGUST.
Sorry , wrong picture.
For this picture the caption would be
We caught these sometime ago ,I forget exactly what month but it might even have been in August.

How about an action shot...
Uncle Joe during a line squall late last August or early September at Brenton Pt - field testing his then-new Golden Mullet and hooking up on the second cast
40 MPH gusts, sideways rain and a 5-6' swell - perfect conditions...

I like the big "Z" in the background. Too bad Zeno or Dennis weren't the guy in the photo.

How 'bout this one? My "big kid" hauling in a stripe she caught on a flat in Ninigret on our late August vacation last year.

Hey, that shot of Uncle Joe is part of the new Pt Jude ad campaign in development
Geez, only Joe would notice that the surf forms a 'Z' behind him...
Hmmm...I've gotta see if I can Photoshop the whitewater into a 'PJ'...sure, subliminal advertising, that's the ticket...
Boy, tough client, that Joe...

How about this one
Connecticut Surfcasters Assoc. member George "Baldwin" son george Jr. picked up this 5 pound largemouth on a tattoo swimmer in a CT lake this weekend, nothing like pond fishing during the summer doldrums of August.

Funny story about George's fish. He and a friend were fishing a little pond at our gun club for sunfish. He tells his buddy "these sunfish will hit anything,...watch". He ties on a Tattoo swimmer, tosses it out, gives it a few cranks, and BANG! 22" largemouth that some others have been trying to catch for months.

Nice! Christina will be very excited when she wakes up and sees the front page!
We're on vacation in Newport next week, so we're looking forward to another camera full of fishing memories.
