Pretty soon we will have the biologists trolling seal cutouts around Monomoy.

I watched the news video and it reminded me of the scene from "JAWS" where the waters were crowded with fishermen in every conceivable type of watercraft looking to catch the shark.

Exactly how many EPO's does it take to monitor that area?
(I'd be more worried about the boats than the sharks.)

Mark my words: the region will milk these "cash cows" until someone gets hurt. Then see what happens.
Since this will be new business category to New England, there are no set guidelines for "Shark tours", so imagine the hoopla if a tour boat should happen to sink or someone should fall overboard (say if they were rammed by a shark)?

Besides SERIOUS, AUTHORIZED monitoring/research, I say leave the sharks alone so they can get on with the business of eating seals!

Just think of the Pavlovian response from the sharks after a while. Every time a hoard of folks show up with plywood, the sharks circle in, waiting for the first seal to hit the water. Kind of like that guy that had all those Jack Crevalle trained down in the FLA keys.

As sleek as they are in the water, they're fat wallowing slobs on the land. I say we just chase them down, club them in the head to stun them, then make a seal catapult to fire them out to the sharks. That would be theater of the most wonderful type.
