Unfortunately, even that would violate the RULES they have over there... I would PM MikeP and ask his advice on how he would handle that one. (He has some clout over there.....and he's posted on the same thread I believe.)

I disabled my PMs here.
He joined there on 10/15. He now has 16 posts, but he still needs to wait a couple of days to use their BST. He should automatically get access on 10/22.
I don't run the BST forum there. And they're not my rules. I have no clout in this instance.

Hey guys thanks for the input. I undertsand the rules but you have to admit those are mostly put in place for guys who want to sell something. I am actually trying to buy something!! How can I screw someone? And really what does 15 posts and a week membership do? Does that make me automatically trustworthy? I am just trying to talk to the guy to see if we can make a deal is all.

Yeah, but that clause about signing away your first born before you can sell anything seems a bit harsh to me ...

You're not going to get a Saltiga 6000 GT for $650 anywhere in the US. You used to be able to get them for about that direct from Japan, but the yen/dollar exchange rate was better then. Nowadays it actually costs more to order one from Japan.
They are $839 now, and dealers aren't allowed by Daiwa to discount them.
I did mention to the seller that dahark was interested, but he was obligated to sell it to the first buyer who gave him an unequivocal "I'll take it".
I'll bet you that another one will be offered for sale before next season starts.

How about this reel?
Copied from the Saltwaters Edge.
We have a Daiwa Saltiga SA-Z 5000 that a customer used once and decided to return to get a smaller reel. Since it's used, we're looking to get rid of it. Cheap. This reel retails for $819.95. Score it now for $650. Brand new condition including paperwork but no box. Give us a call if you're interested. 401.842.0062

Hey Gremlin another great deal but dont care for the slow 4:3/1 ratio. I might just go with Saltist 5000 and save some money Thanks for the heads up though

You won't see much difference from the gt to the reg. 5000, both reels will get your jig in fast. I have the gt, I like it but would have been fine with either. I do like the spool on it though, it seems narrower at the rim. good luck with your search
