Paul, this is the same M class rod you just got from BB.It started at 11' and had 6" taken off the butt. I use it for the applications you just described frequently. It is an awesome pencil rod because with the added length it gets to be more whippy than the 1201M.I do jig the ditch with this setup and I can really lean into it and fire casts, especially with tins up to 4oz.

Definitely a good pencil rod. I'll miss it a little for that reason.

Paul,
If you are interested you can borrow it and mess around with it a little before you make a decision. I can leave it at M&D's for you or something like that as long as Mike doesn't mind. It's a good rod and a fair price IMO so even if you don't like I'm sure I'll get someone to take it at some point this winter. This rod would fit in nicely when your throwing pencils that make the 1201m feel a little to labored. It's also gives you a little more for whipping the big girls. If you like the handle length on BB's rod this will probably work well because it's only about a an inch longer than how mike wraps his 10' rods which I think makes sense given the additional length.

Thanks Chris and Mike for the info. Yes that would be great Mike. I have interest in this rod. It is spinning right? I luv the one I got from BB and a little more whippy in the tip would be even better for top water IMO. Mike won't be at shop till Dec. on weekends do you think you could wait till then? I don't want to feel bad if I don't like the rod, which I am sure most likely won't be the case, and return it to you and you lost all that time. Are you in dire need of the cash or it won't be a problem for you to wait? Thanks. P.

Yes, spinning. I'm not in a rush at all. If I'm going to be down in your area I'll shoot you a pm or if I'm going into Landmark I'll just drop it at your wife's desk.....

LOL. She is out of the Hingham, Rockland shop and she would figure out a way to break it somehow. Beside she doesn't have to know anything about the rod. Yes shoot me a PM if you are in the area. I'm right off exit 5 on 495. Like going down to Dave's or something or maybe we can meet halfway somewhere. Thanks and keep in touch as I forget a lot.

If you are going to Dave's let me know. I have to get a plug or two from him anyway so it might motivate me to make the trip. Seriously, if your wife has an suv that will fit the rod in I'm at the hingham office a couple times a week. Some things are not meant to involve wives though so if you would prefer to ignore that option it's fine.

That would work, giving it to her. I was just joking. I'll be using my money, what little I have, not hers. She said no problem. She is driving a Toyota rav 4 so I will go out tomorrow and see if a rod that long can fit in there. Cool that solves that problem. The only fly in the ointment is she is on the road a few times a week and works from home often too so we will have to coordinate it. Ill get back to you tomorrow. Thanks

again, no rush and the last thing i want to do is to create any kind of hassle for her. that is if seems like the rod will fit.
