I'm really bummed. My snow blower goes in for service on Monday. Mice ate the electrical wires and I was thinking I dodged the bullet hearing the forecast a few days ago. Friggin foot of snow is going to suck. Guess I will have to locate my shovel and start stretching my back.

Channel 7 called it a Rt24 storm with potentials to 2 ft: thunder snow and coastal effects. Blizzard watches from Hull all around the coast changing to warnings on LI.

I better head out to Market Basket and pick up 6 loaves of bread, 4 gallons of milk, 7 gallons of water, some candles, batteries and some ice melt.

May be able to get a whole new boat, Channel 7 upped forecast to 20-24" widely on south shore.

Excellent, that means we'll get taxpayer funded subsidies to pay for the snow machines to ferry us to the cinema

Why does the government have to be in the snow removal business anyway?
It would be better if snow removal was privatized and we were not paying state pensions to people driving snow plows. That way you just pay them to clear the snow today, and you don't have to continue paying them thirty years after the snow is gone.

Some towns have privatized it to an extent. In Mansfield, I believe they have a handful of year-round DPW employees drive trucks owned by the town and any extra work is handed out to freelance plows.

At least the storm is coming early in the week and not right in the middle of when people will be traveling for Christmas.

I had a momentary panic attack this morning, not because I was out of milk or bread but I was out of BEER!

Feel better now, got Sam's Winter before the liquor store ran out. Surprise as there were no lines.

yep.... been ordered closed twice in my 31 years...called the boss both times... one was in a horrendous blizzard, other was Hurricane bob...

called boss.. "PD is here, says we gotta close."

"WHAT?...WHY?... JAYZUZ H CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS... TELL THEM TO GO TO HELL!"

after I calmed them down... i closed...

best part was during the blizzard, I think they closed us, cause of all the plow trucks swingin in and grabbin pints of blackberry brandy...

One part of me knows you're joking, while the other part is sure using a flame thrower has crossed your mind.

I just went to S&S there was nobody there. Fresh bread was being baked - got some milk and some eggs too. My son's buddy is over and they are going to help me clear out after I make them french toast in the morning.
