Heading up next Thursday myself for an overnighter....2 tides at Sonny's.

Niko...I would call James Eddy now. i called them a week and a 1/2 ago and they were already booked solid for that Thursday night...that's why we are at Sonny's.

and fridays usually go fast

Waiting for the ice to freeze at
couple local Quincy area spots.
Anyone checking them shoot me
a PM if it looks thick.

I would be up for an overnight depending on the day. PM when it firms up. I know my way around the smelt camps.

I would also be interested in the next few weeks. Can someone post a list of what to bring? I have never done it before.

you don't need much. you can use the house lines just sharpen the hooks. i use a very light ice jigging rod w/ a spring on the end. maybe a few sabikis and some small sinkers. not much to it. c'mon skimmer - i'm headed up one night this week to check it out. conditions look good

Last year I made a Jig Board and brought it up.....it worked Pissah.....the house lines work OK but a small rod or jig board is the way to go.

house lines are just ones that are left in the camps. you don't even need warm clothes it gets so friggin hot in the camps w/ the heaters burning. a jigging rod is nice to have, i have extras. i'm having trouble finding a place that can accomodate a group for friday. i'll post how we make out on tuesday

I'm in with Bob if you can find room. But I would need to know by Tuesday the latest. BTW Bob, we have a solid 7 inches on Joes pond. There was a ton of action there yesterday. I didn't make it out but his neighbors did awesome.

well - we ended up w/ about 50 between 2 of us. it was pretty slow but the size was good. the hot setup was a panfish jig. billyblanks aka the smelt slayer had the hot hand. we got up there around 4 pm and fished till 11 and low tide was best. had 1 hit from something bigger and caught a little cod who was in spawn mode. going again in a week or two. next time for the overnight shift.

Bakers is good. I like those folks. They weren't answering their phone right after Christmas so I didn't get a chance to go there yet this year.

Just got back a couple of hours ago.....Decent night fished from 8 to 8 this morning, Incoming tide was sloooooowwww outgoing tide much better. ended up with 250 for the night between the four of us......200 of which came on the outgoing....jig board wasn't producing so switched to ice fishing rods with small glo jigs.....that was the ticket

Grilled up some steak tips and met some guys from NH that turned us on to some marinated Black Bear and Moose meat they cooked up.

had a few Pops some good laughs and now I must sleep......long night
