Tony Bucci died
For those of you who fished the Cape in the 70s thru the early 2000s, Tony was a fixture on the back beaches. Had a silver Toyota pickup that was always on the "front". Good guy and a good striperman. I last fished with him in 2004 on The Block. he was 82 and hadn't fished much the last few years.
RIP Tony

Tony was a good guy, met him through George Carlezon. Those two would rib each other endlessly. I hadn't seen him in a few years either; Rudy Sawyer of the MBBA approached me last year at the MSBA show and asked about him, and we found that he had shacked up with a well off woman (on the block?) and had pretty much stopped fishing. RIP.

I remember Tony. He fished strictly plugs if I remember correctly. Used to see him set up on the Race and second rip all the time. RIP.

It's not the bait
At the end of your line
It's the fishing hole
Where all the fish is blind

Yeah Mike, 2nd rip was his place - that's where he was last time I saw him. And no stinky bait for him...

You have it correct. He met a woman who had a number of acres and a house on the Block. Told me she wouldn't let him fish.

RIP Tony! He was a great guy and fisherman. I loved his stories about "the good old days" on the grand back beach. He told me once that he had two fifties one night at Chatham. I will miss him. Steve
* PS- I have to start reading the newspaper( obits) more!

I,ll never for get you
R I P Tony I met Tony years ago at Chatham inlet, always fishing plugs. He loved the sinker Rebels on the outgoing tide and could show up a lot of guys.
I,ll never forget coming down late Saturday after work in late July to fish the inside with sand eels. When i showed up at (the spot) it was already kind of taken and Tony said PULL IN HERE NEXT TO ME which i did. It was the first time i saw tony fishing with bait, which means things where slow.
Well the fish Gods where with me because i started catching bass ,one after the other and when Tony got up Sunday morn and came out of his camper i had yet another rod go off.
Needless to say that was about the only time i out fished Tony side by side.
Rest in peace Tony,I,ll never forget you
