Seatow or Boat US

Pros cons or recommendations.Never had either service for the tinny but I won't tempt fate with the Parker.

I'm BoatUS and can say nothing bad about them. Great coverage on all NE waters. They saved me last Nov off Peaked Hill when I blew the engine. Best $135 spent last year was buying BoatUS (make sure unlimited) safety net. Never saw the $1000+ towing bill.......

Given the diversity of the human species, there is no “normal” human genome sequence. We are all mutants.

I have had SafeSea for the last 4 years. I only needed them once but it was 3 in the morning and my motor would not turn over. Called them (I was off of the South tip of Prudence). They dispatched out of Wickford, were at my boat in about 10 minutes and towed me back to my dock in Warwick Cove. Turned out to be nothing serious but I swear by these guys.

No boat, back in the suds.

Depends where you are...check the coverage of the providers in your neck of the woods. Get the unlimited or the max coverage no matter what kind of boat you have.

Never had to use them myself but feel good about having it. Those I know that have used them...thank God they had the coverage.

They both end up covering you in the end but I get seatow, more convenient for trips to the bank from the ports I go out of. He's out of green harbor.

I also add the trailer for like $10, cheap money for possible help on the road.

I have been going with TowBoatUS because they have the coverage I need where I boat/fish.

For $14, I also get the trailer towing too, never know and $14 is cheap.

Got 10% off at the Boat Show as well, and a nifty bag.

I had found that BoatUS wanted almost double to insure my boat over Rogers & Gray. I thought that with a huge base it would be less, but no.

Dangles, last years apprentice's father owns BoatUS down here. He has a boat in Westport and a couple in Fairhaven.......Top Notch. When we have had to use Towboat they were slow boats.

Boat US is competitive in certain classes of boats, and not even close on others.

Center consoles, and small fishing boats - they're usually in the ballpark, but not necessarily the cheapest.

High Value, Charter, and Commercial - that's where you see a big cost savings by going with an independant agent.
And sometimes you can call in a claim on the vhf.....

FWIW, Safe Sea is a TowBoatUS provider too, but TowBoatUS has no hassle coast-wide coverage. IIRC, when I was looking into it they were the same price which is why I went with TowBoatUS.

Best regards,
Roger

I have towboat US. They are great. I used them Last year Once. I spun my Prop hub in the middle of vinyard sound, departing Oaks bluff shark tournment. Was blowing 20-25 with 4-6 ft seas. I had 2 kids on board, they where scared. I threw my sea ancore to keep my bow into the waves and 30 min later they picked me up, Towed me to Woods hole, with another boat picked me up and brought me back to my morein in wareham. Cost me 0. Got the invoice for $1800 bucks. GLAD i got the unlimted
