You can't make this stuff up

Answering the phone today at the station around two p.m. guy calls and said he is trapped in his car at the closed Stop & Go on route 18, and cannot get out of his car. I'm kind of busy so I don't give it too much thought, I just send help. The O.I.C. of the fire department and an engine in case their is any medical emergency involved and I let two cruisers know about the call, and they respond. Well you probably allready guessed, but the guy did have some kind of electrical failure, but never ever opened a car by pulling up the button, nope never. Forty year old greek guy never used the lock/unlock button, go figure.

It amazes me that most people (definitely not all) know well enough to wipe their ass during a trip to the thrown. 5 years doing 911 as and EMT and few things surprise me - I'm know you see it exponentially more.

Did you hear about the Polish Guy that locked his keys in his car....

He had to use a coat hanger to get his family out

it's over automated really

push button controls that only work
when the key is in the on position

then there's all that child safety crap
you know the special button you press
that disables all the unlock buttons
so the kids won't open the door
while your driving...
that's so easy to hit by mistake!!!

well that's all fine and good if ya have kids
but when you don't it's a SOLID pain in the ASS.

On my caravan it AUTO locks me out all the time!
and i have to carry a spare key practically around my neck
or to be sure to have the window rolled down 4 inches

Spin that door lock button off and make a Pointing down mini v-notch
on the inside side -taking note where its tight first... eh?
make a witness mark

then ya can hide a plastic or wood wedge and fashion a mini rod out of a
piece of electrical snake flat wire and then fish your way back open.

My wifes car had frozen locks one morning
and the key wouldn't turn them.

This is how i finally got them open but it still took
me 30 minutes at 20 degrees.
