				Starting out the year right

What better way than to start off 09 with some plugage porn What you guys been turning?

Been a while since I did any turning. Finally got round to painting some that I turned over the spring and summer. These ones were inspired by the old Pt Jude Flapper. Did them up with one hook rather than two, thru-wired, and added a shot of lead in the belly. Sink, but come up top real quick. Around 1.4 oz.

Got some other stuff finished too. You show me yours and I'll show you mine
Jigman

I've been finishing up some floating birch needles, and a beer-cap lipped surfster style plug.

				 | Jig I really like those. I made some flaptails last spring and I will tell you they are the most enjoyable plugs I have ever fished. A big thanks to Numbskull for telling me I should actually fish them as I gave him one. I made them cause I liked the look of them and the challenge of the rigging but never really thought I would use them. Boy was I surprised at how neat they fished. I am making more and look forward to using them this spring. I know I still owe you a plug and maybe I will send you one of these if you would like when I get some done.
Lawrence I will have one for you when I see you on the canal as I intended to give you one knowing your luv for rubber and thought you may enjoy fishing something kind of different in the wood category. BTW nice wood you got there L. |

Love the eels and the flap tails Mmmmmmmmmmmmm

The small poppers will be killer out out the yak, like to have one of them in blue.green/silver for down the susky hint
I am working on a few things see drawings. I am doing small stuff as a change. The hand carve drawing is 5" that will tell ya how small the others are. |

				 | I would be interested to hear how you guys use a flaptail. In testing I slow waked it, sometimes twitched it to get some splatter, other times let it drop some, then back on top. Probably other ways to use them too.
Well, if we're going to get into freshie stuff A few that have done well for them. 1/2 oz pencils in wonderbread killed smallies. The one without the hooks will finish out at 3/8 oz and does well in summer. Jitterbug at dusk and after dark = LM.

Some 2 1/2 oz dannys too:
