We were shut down today Niko, live pogies on kites with one seal bite. We did see one small group of fish pushing bait but were gone to fast. Good luck out there. The race is packed with striper fishermen.

I didn't hook any, but did see a large pod of smaller fish yesterday. They are out there.

catch and release challenges
I don't know the guy personally, but I get this quick story over the VHF on Saturday. Guy hooks up a nice BFT but can't immediately tell whether it's going to be over or under 59". They fight the fish for a good while, wear out nicely, and get it to the boat. They can't stick it and don't want to gaff it since they don't want to kill a fish they can't keep. So while they're wrestling the fish in the water to get a tape on it, it cuts off...and swims away slowly and not very healthy looking.
This story just makes me hope that a lot of 59+ aren't killed this way...it's a strange way to save a fish.

Three-fourths of the Earth's surface is water, and one-fourth is land. It is quite clear that the good Lord intended us to spend triple the amount of time fishing as taking care of the lawn.

got one yesterday and thought it would go the distance.. 68 inches. this new slot limit is going to kill far too many amazing fish. Yesterday was the first tuna i ever hooked into, really sucks not being able to take it home and not knowing if it would make it. revived and it swam away fine but you never know.
