That brings back memories. When I was a kid I would go to Charles River (Cambridge side) and snag herring and feed the gulls. Yes I know.......bad, bad , bad. I was a dumb kid, but it was fun. I remember one of the gulls picking up a fish, flying over the roadway, and dropping it into a convertible. Very funny (to me).

That happend in my neighborhood about a month and a half ago all these kids on bikes stoped and were looking at something then I noticed it was a fish. I went over and it was a striper about 16in. I live about 2miles from the beach and first thing I thought of was an osprey.

All of this talk of the low stock of striped bass....where???

I know I'm young (age 32) but I've seen the stock as a kid in the 80s go from absolutely nothing sitting there for hours on end with my dad to the biggest bonanza we've ever seen this year. My old man says this is nothing he's ever seen before. From our perspective in Cape Cod bay, we have never seen more striped bass from Green Harbor to Duxbury to Provincetown to Stellwagen. Big bass, small bass, medium bass.

Yesterday we were on a blitz of stripers in f'ing JULY that went from the Gurnet to Green Harbor. It looked like the end of september.

Stellwagen, you can walk on 30 lb bass. They are a nuisance. My $6 pogies got massacred Saturday. Even the tuna were getting annoyed.

All of this talk about low stocks... come to Cape Cod Bay. Maybe this is our year.
