Outer Beaches air station
the only one is at the race point drive on/off spot, right?
with the bird closures, PIA if you want to drive the section at high head, then have to get back on the highway to go back to race point........

So It has never been a problem with me, I air down when I get there and never air up till I go home sometimes weeks at a time, Just go slow and take wide corners
There are a few Gas stations close by to, not sure if the charge or not

From what I understand, you can fill those puppies up to 30-35 psi for short trips. That'd at least get you to the air station.

TO REPEAT
I carry my air compressor - eliminates a lot of issues and makes for easier access at any location. Also some times at peak times at the air station at Race Point there is a wait line.

Funny how you guys got spoiled. Back in the day there was no "air up station". You carried your own air or you drove around on 8 PSI.
We always ran from the Back to High Head on the highway as the section of beach from Peaked Hill Bar to High Head was closed to all traffic for YEARS not just sometimes for the birds. I forget what year they started opening that section but it was probably 99 or 2000.

As you come out of High Head at Rt 6 there is a Citgo (sp?) with an air hose, and the old Sonny's (now Lower Cape Auto) also has air. The new owner of Sonny's is good enough to leave his hose out at night; the Citgo pulls its one in at closing.
I'm with Bob - I air down in April and don't air up again until November. Don't drive fast, do not turn hard.
BTW, note piemma's comment about 8 PSI. I think I'm the only one left that airs down that much. 2WD the whole beach hills and all.

Woo Woo And i thought i was the last dinosaur airing down to 8lbs and in August maybe even less.
I still have an old Shurader spark plug air pump. The kind that you take out a spark plug and blow up your tires. I still remember burning my hands to change from spark plug to air fitting.

I still drop to 8 in my wrangler. Also carry two 20# tanks from Sears.Fills all 4 tires to 35# then just load'm up again. The f250 would go to 11# and the same two tanks would fill them to 25-28#s."saved" a few people on the beach[including myself] over the years with those tanks.

Air down to 8PSI and never had a problem. Glad to see there are still some guys who share this philosophy. You run 12 or more and that's where all the ruts on the big hill in the Back came from.
