Arrow Take a Stranger Fishing

Joe started the "Take a Stranger Fishing" thread and it looks like a LOT of S-B'ers got together to fish.

So how did it go?

I didn't fish much at all this year. Only people I fished with for the most part were the normal three blind mice. Neither of my old apprenticeses. Did get my annual trip with the Pope John R.
Did get to shoot the shat with quite a few out and about. A fun nite on my turf body surfing with Krispy and Tlapinski--Dave Diggin Jiggin...- Fished with some when I was mugged and thiefed of my rock.

Did get to at least meet Rockfish, maybe someday I'll get to fish with him.

Highlight of fishing with new people this year was without a doubt actually casting with the World Renowned RoyL, though it eneded up being hopefully the worst nite of fishing I'll ever have....
And I got to reallly fish and swim with Uncle Al (without Manny and Peggy) for a night which was to me an honor and truly touching nite......
But it ain't over yet..........

Real lucky so far, fished with Slingah, Big Fish, James Jet, and Skip (and they get no stranger than him!) Hopefully more before season ends. Even had my son come out and throw line with a few, trying to break him in the correct way. Met a few others too.

I fished w/ a few new people this year. Enjoyed it immensely

1st, Thanx to Joe I got to boat fish for stripers for the 1st time in my life. It was an absolute blast. Also got out w/ Ross on his boat fishing w/ Luds. Again, another great time. 1st time ever livelining baits for stripers

Had the pleasure of meeting, the fishing with JamesJett from the board up at PI. Great Guy and glad we got to meet. Hopefully once things settle down w/ his new addition I can get him up here a few more times

And w/ all the trips to Cutty this was actually the 1st season I fished w/ Luds. Fished w/ him one night and we had the "Dawg" there for good measures.

Later in the season I finally got to surfcast w/ the big Guy, Larry, and then the following morning, Kayaked w/ him, his lovely bride Angie, BigBo, Kenny, and Tagger....all 1sts w/ the exception of Eddie, who I fished w/ a few times at the canal and at Cutty. Next year there will be quite a few more "Yak Rats" get togethers I'm sure

Even wet a line for a few casts w/ Jackk up in Glostah, while he was prowling around w/ Spinncognito

All in All a great season.....still not over yet though....don't care what anybody says.

"If you're arguing with an idiot, make sure he isn't doing the same thing."

I fished with a lot of new guys this year:

Derek1
Freebie
O.D. Mike
Eelskimmer
the point
JohnnyD (to make up for a trip last year)

The list is about 2X that for guys invited that we were unable to go for this/that reason.

I use to fish with quite a few guys I met on the site .
day & night /surf & boat .

As like anything else time changes & life goes on .

most of the guys I fished with from the site I don,t even see anymore & many arn,t on the site .

I miss F -18 . he was great to fish with >.he didn,t care when .day or night or boat or shore or even what kind of fish .

I fished alot ths year / alot alone ... I have fished with Denis from the site alot .......but not for bass / it schoolie fishing was like it use to be ,then he,d being doing more than that .
I,ve fished a few times with lurker Capt. Jim White & we,ll hook up again for Tautog .;

alot of it has to do with choices ...... there are alot of guys on the site that are hard core surf ....... I can,t run the rocks anymore .

or the night crew . My kids asked me not to fish @ night alone anymore from boat ..little do they know I,m safer in the boat than climbing on a dock .

&& alot has to do with the majority of guys still chasing the large.
Its a personal choice but I chose not to fish for them /only in the short RI commercial season & this year even thru I knew where the mother load was sitting /. I had no desire to spend 1/2 the night chasing bait & running to fish & then running to sell .

I know if I wanted to fish large .I would have had no problem having company & if schoolie fishing was like it was there would have been guys wanting to go .

Life is what it is & I have had a great time meeting & fishing with guys on this sites . times & lives change .

BUT nothing will /nor will I forget the awesome times I spent on Cutty with the S/B crew . even the 5 minute stop & 7.5 hour tow back home .

I,ll see my more guys winter fishing

ENJOY WHAT YOU HAVE !!!

MIKE

Great Times

I met some really great people on here and had some good (and some bad) fishing ta boot. Tysdad, Dad Fisherman, Skippy, BigFish, Slipknot, Pete, all are some really good guys. Looking forward to seeing some of you over the next few days at a big river that flows both up and down and east and west. Also looking forward to really trying the Plum Island and North Shore area a lot more next year as well.
Hey its not over yet guys, lets end this fall in style.

Also if there is any interest in a cod charter next year let me know. There are some sponsors as well a few nice headboats that really can put you on fish. I am always up for a groundfish trip.

It's not too late for this season yet guys, Joe, just come on down to the ditch and fish with us and show Larry how to catch a bass

maybe even PRBuzz will show up too

I am grateful for all who have been willing to fish near me this year, thanks

The United States Constitution does not exist to grant you rights; those rights are inherent within you. Rather it exists to frame a limited government so that those natural rights can be exercised freely.
