Winter Storage?
I like to keep my yaks in the basement in the winter. My concern is any water left in the yak could freeze and possibly crack the hull or extreme temp swings may affect the seams. Am I paranoid?? Do you guys feel the need to store yours inside or don't you think it matters??

Your Paranoid... ...pop the hatch so the air gets in and it will be evaporated in a week.

You are paranoid. No place that the water is going to cause problems when it freezes/expands, unless it is filled to the top.... The seams are welded, not going to crack, unless you drive your Jeep into it at 13 below zero.... Mine lives under my sister's deck in NH year round. No issues

Mine is leaned up against the house in Truro..where it was last year. Of course if it was a new PA, it'd be in the house and I'd be deaf in one ear...

Cold won't effect it. Store it upside down and water get in. Did have to evict a chipmunk family out last year.

Mine is stored in a shed sitting on a few plastic garbage cans... I made sure to dry it out in the late fall after I used it last

I do worry about rodents! We had a psycho squirrel here a few years ago that stole some glow in the dark tree faces off the trees one piece at a time and hauled them away??? We were wondering where they went and eventually we saw the squirrel working them off the tree and dragging them across the yard into the trees.....and it was quite a chore for the squirrel as they were not feather light! Anyway.....always worried about squirrels possibly chewing the hull.....anyone ever hear of such a problem??
