Blue water charts CD

I am looking to replace my old handheld GPS with something new. Looking at the Garmin 76s or the 176c. One uploads from the CD the other needs a chip. Looking for your thoughts and experiances.?

Fly,
I run the Garmin Blue Chart which is loaded on a cd. The thing I like about this is you can load the program on to your home computer, setup your waypoints or just look for interesting spots, then just download the info to your handheld or fixed mount gps.

2 different units - I would get the larger fixed unit...

As for chip -v- software, you can download an upgrade for Garmin so the 176C can use the map source software too...
