Yesterday was a great day for Bill and I!!!
Hi All, I did not want to post this last night as I wanted to see if we could get him to the 24 hour mark so I did not wammy us.
Yesterday morning they took the breathing tube out, I was not happy they were doing it so quickly after how sick he had been last week and did not want to have another blow to his body, BUT He is doing great, I got in there and he was wide awake and smiling at me ear to ear!!!
I can not tell you how great a feeling that was to see him looking so good. He just kept smiling at me, squeezing my hand and telling me he loved me. OOOOHHH what a great, great feeling for a change. I know he has a long way to go, and things can go the other way but I hope and I pray we are starting to turn a corner for the better. I wanted so bad to share this with everybody yesterday but was so scared to even take a breath myself after all that has happened.
I just called in this morning and he is still doing well breathing on his own. His vitals are holding good. The only red flag in his way right now is his white count which is up to 45000 as of yesterday and they do not know what is causing it and he is having some belly pain so I pray it is not infection. They just can not figure out the source. So they put him on 4 different antibiotics yesterday and also brought in infectious control to make sure they are not missing something.
I just had to share this with all of you as because of you I have been able to be strong for him. I told him everything everyone has been doing on this site and he just could not believe it and told me to pass along a BIG thank you to all of you.
I am taking his dad into see him today, what a good thing that will be for him to see Bill doing so well. He has a very long road to go for recovery and hopefully they can get his white count under control and hopefully he is not getting infection in the belly again.
One other thing I forgot to mention as well was that his kidneys started producing a small amount of urine yesterday which means they may be starting to come back to working on there own eventually which would be another whole great thing. I will keep you all up to date over the next couple of days as this is going to be the biggest test for him right now which is his heart getting stronger and his breathing staying strong enough to keep him off the machine. WOOOO HOOOO!!!
Love you all!!!!!
