My first charter fishing trip on Cheapspeare Bay
Hey guys, on April 19, 2003, I went to Cheapspeare Beach with eight of Gallaudet University students for the first day of the opening striper season. Maryland outdoor magazines reported that many anglers have been catching many trophy-sized stripers. So we drove to CB to meet Capt. Green and his mate, Al of the Plumb Crazy Charter. We were on a half-day trip. We trolled for stripers. We discussed which one of us should go first. We decided to follow in a birthday order. The other dude who was with us got the first hit and I got the second one. He caught 28 1/2 inches striper. It was his first saltwater fishing trip. He was elated and stroked. He fought the fish and it nearly worn his arms out. Then I caught a 33 1/2 inches striper. That fish fought well. It felt so heavy. As I kept reeling, I saw the fish on the surface of the water. Al netted the fish and released the hook off it's mouth and gave it to me, and I held it.
I'm going to post some pictures. Anyway, this picture is better than my previous one, do you guys remember the last picture?

And also I forgot to mention that I won the $9 pool. My fish was the biggest of all.

Glad you had a good time.
How far down the bay were you fishing? I lived in Newport News and hitched rides with people when I could in the lower bay. Striper season was closed then
