Can I put a dryer in this space?

This is all wasted space in my bathroom. There was a very deep cabinet here about 4' off the ground.
If I come up about 3 feet I could make a box the dryer would fit perfectly in. Totally being awesome as I could have both washer and dryer In the bathroom.
Question is, can i do it? how much room does an electric dryer need around it?
Total fire hazard and completely illegal?
I would just blow a hole out the right hand wall for the vent.
I've seen Those stackable ones in some pretty tight closets and others as well crammed in behind closed doors.
I havent exactly measured yet but I'm guessing theyll be a couple inches either side.

				 | As long as you have room to turn your vent hose/pipe, I dont see why not. Need to get dedicated power in there, frame a platform, insullate and rock it. As long as you have the width and don't have to go too high for the depth. Take a good look at where your controls on the dryer are. Call me with clearances. I gotta go to the airport. |

				 | I'd make sure that platform is solid or your whole house might resonate when you dry a big load.Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device

				Joking aside...

I echo Spencer's comment. I have my w/d in second floor bathroom and have had to deal with more that a few cracks in the wall due to vibrations. I have even placed foam matting under them and still get the shakes. |

				 | Dryers become unbalanced very easily with wet clothes all on one side and vibrate like hell, especially front loaders.Frame & plan accordingly.
