Might be cheaper to buy the Freak's unit, but I have used Cambridge Sound Works for various repairs over the years:
Service@cambridgesoundworks.com
I'm pretty sure they would service Onkyo.

Given the diversity of the human species, there is no “normal” human genome sequence. We are all mutants.

The unit I have was over a thousand when it was new, and I love it so repairing it is a go if I can get it done for less than 300-400
I am deffinately interested in what Freak has though..

I decided not to sell it it's an old onkyo 5:1 surround receiver and although I'm not using it now it's a kick aas receiver and I should probly keep it for when I finally break down and get a decent tv.

Im pretty sure there is a standard fuse inside so you might want to pop the cover off it might be as simple as that

The DSP on mine is #^&#^&#^&#^&ed, when you put it into surround mode the front left channel gets static. I called their authorized repair center, 165 to fix, shipping it out.
