Today

Just thought I'd share this. I've been having an amazing season bass fishing from shore this year. So far I have 38 fish in 7 trips, average fish being 2 lbs, biggest just over 4, all on rubber worms and lizards. Today I was at my spot and a girl and her boyfriend came down to fish, which is unusual because I never see anyone there, but anyways, they weren't hooking up so I threw them some worms and lizards and told them how to fish them. Her boyfriend was clueless, but the girl got the casting down... I was thoroughly impressed. I already had 4 small fish, but she ended up hooking a monster on a lizard. Her drag was broken so she couldn't get the fish in. I told her BF to reel it in by hand and he yanked it and the hook straightened But she was thrilled and you know how it goes with girls, it's great to see them fishing. I had an extra rod in my truck that I hardly use so I gave it to her and told her to keep it. The expression on her face was priceless.

I may have compromised my honey hole, but I think it was worth it. And I ended up with 6 fish( nothing big) before I left so I was content Just thought I'd share...

haha thanks Mike, but no more for me...

Oh and one other highlight of the day: her BF telling me, "my only problem with fishing is that once you hook a fish, they become afraid to eat and will starve to death." I just rolled my eyes and proceeded to bang 4 fish right in front of him

Awesome, Bart! That was very nice of you to help them out. That's what fishing should be.

So today was interesting. I went down early to pick up trash that a bunch of jamokes left behind down the way from where I fish. Ended up falling in the water, phone chit the bed So I ran home, got changed then went back. It was pretty slow, only managed 3 small fish. But I threw out the lizard right before I was about to leave and hooked a fish. I knew it was a fish because I could feel the head shakes. Ended up dropping the fish, but still had a little weight on the end of my line so I thought I might have snagged a branch on the retrieve. I reel it in and my pig and jig that I lost yesterday to fish was hanging off the lizard! Tied the pig and jig on for the walk back and hooked up with a fish, but broke off the jig I think the eye of the jig is cutting through the 15 lb. braid, need to grab some snaps. Still a great day. And I picked up about 10lbs worth of trash! Dirtbags....

Alright, now I'm embarrassed that I said the fishing has been so good for me after seeing RoyL's 8 pounder on FB. Congrats on a true trophy...
