I noticed the transom is closed off - this was initially an I/O ?
Gotta love those Wellcraft Steplifts!

Yes John it was till last season. I had it at that point!! For the last 5 years I have sunk alot into the I/O. New outdrive ,manafold, riser, engin coupler, oil pan, and finaly the Engin went at the end of the season. That was it, Conversion time.
The gill bracket came from a friend of a friend. He new a guy who was putting twin out boards on a Seacraft and had to change the bracket. So I got the old single bracket. $400.00 Brand new it is $1400.00. Just before that I bought a steel bracket !/2 " steel. Nice bracket but very heavy. So Now I have two of them. Going to sell the steel one.
The motor i got for what I think is a good deal $1800.00 It is a 1990 175hp V6 Yamaha. I check everything there was to ck and it seems great. I got alot of info from the guys on Iboat.com with that in hand I had the guy do a compression test while I was there, Ran then engin, Checked temp after 15 min run in tank was great, Ck lower unit oil good clean. Ck shifting rod none to break on these good, tilt and trim went up and down, shifted fine. The guy gave me the engin , remote oil tank, shifter, wire harness, and digtel mutli gauge RPM , tilt & trim, Oil, and temp all in one.
I hope this will all work out. But Ifeel good about it.

Good luck!
Personally - I think anyone that owns a 23 Seacraft with Twins is just asking for trouble...

BS'n, for whatever reason that link is being condensed by fishingworks... He manually uploaded his pics here but he can link them on your board
