"Everywhere along the southern New England coast reports come in that the migration of some of the eastern seaboard's favorite specie of sport fish is well underway. What a difference a week makes!
Striped bass, as always, continue to dominate the news as charter captains and recreational fishermen everywhere delight in announcing their presence once again to the New England waters. Although there is a significant hold over population in our rivers today, nothing beats the return of theses Big Mommas every summer to our waters.
We've also heard of several nice fluke being taken around the south side of Montauk, as well as a few early arrivals near the Misquamicut area of Rhode Island. Blue fish are beginning to make their presence known as well, with several of these toothy fighters being caught around Millstone and elsewhere in the sound.
Joe Maziarz of Northampton, sent us a report of him going out with Captain Jack Bucchi on the Priority One based out of Clinton, Conn. this past Monday. Joe said that everyone aboard limited out on bass and they caught some bluefish as well. "
