Charity plug auction for the troops Lot 3
Up for auction, are these plugs that were generously donated in 2006 for display at the Sail Loft (now Melville Grille) waterfront restaurant. This collection of plugs and tins represent some of the best talent across the region. This is a unique opportunity to collect (and fish) elite plugs from top professionals as well as difficult to get home builders.
Lot 3
Builder: Habs Custom Plugs
Style: Custom Spoon Tail Needle Plug
Colors: Custom eelskin finish (to replicate the inside of an eelskin)
Length: 9"
Weight: ~3.5 ounces
Notes: Extremely rare / Hand signed by John Haberek in 2006
Builder: Rhode Island Poppers
Style: Needlefish
Colors: Transparent blue
Length: 6.25""
Weight: ~2.5 ounces
Notes: Made from acrylic
Builder: Rhode Island Poppers
Style: Darter
Colors: Black/Silver
Length: 6.3"
Weight: ~2 ounces
Great care has been made to ensure the plugs have been kept in the same condition in which they were donated. All plug weights are approximate or in some cases estimated. Builders, please feel free to add any additional information you think would benefit the auction.
Winning bidders may pick up locally in the Fall River, MA area or have them shipped at no additional cost (Lower 48 only).
100% of the price goes directly to help soldiers suffering from traumatic brain injuries connected with their service in Iraq and Afghanistan. I am going to cover shipping. The winning bidder will make payment directly to the charity through my fundraising page via credit card or check. All donations are tax deductible.
A huge thank you to those who donated back in 2006 and Spence for bringing these out now.
The auction ends May 3rd at noon.
For those of you that don’t know me personally , before I started fishing I spent several years in the military including over 2 years in Iraq. This cause means a lot to me.
Feel free to check out my fundraising page:

I was trying to find online, did Habs ever mass produce a needle this size with the double trebles in the belly?
I remember when John gave it to me at the Saltwater Edge. He was really proud of the paint scheme...

Given the diversity of the human species, there is no “normal” human genome sequence. We are all mutants.

Ahhh, I'm covering shipping but I said this in another thread, hence the confusion. It all makes sense in my head unfortunately
Thanks Bob!

Not a problem Jeff, isn't it funny how things make perfect sense in our heads but doesn't make any to anyone else

I'll do 90 then. I expected this lot to fetch over a hundred because that Habs is so rare and unfortunately we'll never see another like it
