Pfffttt... Easy peasy do it yourself home surgery.
Couple ice cubes and a razor blade, you'd be back fishing within an hour.

I was lucky, at least both points went back out after doing in thru the finger. Did you at least have a fish on? I did (on the plug... on my hand... briefly... )

This was how my 09 season started. Last time I set a hook on my self. I was able to push it through and cut it with out much difficulty. I carry mini bolt cutters now. I wasnt even fishing at the time. I was loading the plug bag and dropped a plug I had made off the pug hanging chain and instinctively went to grab it and caught the thumb on an adjacent plug

I have had them in my hand...fingers...and once, when tightening the knot, in the face(lure slipped while I was cinching knot with teeth)...thought Biteme would pass out from that one...some I was able to pop through and cut...some not...and one I cut the hook and left enough for the doctor to work and kept fishing... hurt every time I banged the hook nub post on something.

NOW...everything is barbless...

a fifty before I go!!!!!!

can't post the same pic twice so here's the link to a good one.

I almost caught an AH metal lip in the face the same way Wednesday night. Got snagged and gave it a good yank. It was so dark that I could't see it but I knew it came out of the water. I turned away and it hit me in the side of the head. Got my rain hood and jacket. Dodged one....

Did the same thing quite a few years back. Out of a reef at 2:00 AM all alone and a 15# bass hanging off my hand. No, I didn't have Manley pliers with me either. I unhooked the bass somehow and just ripped the hook out. Barbless was the name of the game from then on.

No boat, back in the suds.

I thought of this thread after I took a howdy to the face earlier tonight. I was holding the leader while trying to get my plastic gripper off my belt, when the fish thrashed around and dislodged the plug. It shot right up and hit me in the cheek. Fortunately, none of the points went in past the barb, but I've got 3 nice puncture marks on my face. Thank goodness I'm already ugly or I'd be a little bummed out.

Look on the one bright side, we didn't have to do any emergency surgery, and Skip wasn't there to talk #^&#^&#^&#^&e and then hide in the bushes at the first sight of blood.

Btw- you fishing tonight?
