Celts trade Perk????
And Nate. Don't get this one when they need a big man..... Maybe lure Rasheed out of retirement? Doesn't appear to be a move to solidify a championship run...... anyone?

Seems like a lateral move to me.....they give up a 26 year old Perk for a 24 year old and they both have similar numbers??? I like Nate but I won't miss him....he will do well to get more minutes elsewhere! Don't know why they traded Erdin and Heringody either???

Almost time to get our fish on!!!

I just heard this
I don't get it
I thought Perk was improving
but maybe it's about money as he was due for a contract

knee(s).... more than meets the eye, that's the scuttle I am hearing.. what I don't get is we are trading him for a one time Celtics draft pick that we scuttled to get Ray Allen..
somethings up behind the curtain.. will miss Perk..Nate (there is a WTF moment, don't get that at all) and Erdin...think we should have hung onto Erdin.. I liked that kid.

Supposedly Perk tweaked the knee the other night.

Blown MCL would void the deal, no?

I don't get it. Perk was always low-key and was there at the end of the season. if they get a 1st round pick well ok, maybe thats a deal. but Perk and Robinson?
It's a business, not a game.

All about defense and minutes against LBJ and Kobe vs the likes of dwight howard. We can handle the magic even if howard goes off, no way with lebron or kobe.

That's what I don't get James
How are they supposed to get past the lakers in game 7 again if Shaq goes down in game 6?
this is strange, only time will tell
you could tell the players were bummed last night, reminded me of the Buffalo / Lawyer Milloy game
Maybe I jinxed them wearing my #34 Pierce Celtics shirt yesterday

two go to cleveland for 2 roster spots. there will be buyouts of contracts happening now.
as for getting rid of perk??
maybe there building for the future and think that they can compete now with what they have. pick up a big for the playoffs.

The whole team management thing is beyond any of us because we do not have all the inside info. I have confidence in Ainge.
As far as what happens if Shaq gets hurt , well its then time for garnet to be supoerman or we lose to LA again. Its very hard to plan around losing a top player. Suppose King Lebron goes down , there is no bench player to replace him.
The Celtics have always had a plan to win it all that involved some key , older , more fragile guys doing the job at crunch time. Bill Walton was the classic off the bench superstar. For two minutes he was the best center in the league , maybe ever. However beyond 2 minutes he was just too old and fragile by the time the Celts got him. The strategy to have him on the court for the last 2 critical minutes won them a championship. I think that is the same idea with Shaq. Now they do play more than 2 minutes to help give guys a rest but the key is to keep the game close and seal the win with the big talent , short minute old timers.
So the answer is , if shack goes down in game 6 , its unlikely we will win game 7. However , its the Celtics , never count them out!
