some kid stole a dudes plug bag at the canal today

walking out of the water at the east end....guy started tlaking to me asking if i had got anything becuase he "killed it" by the bridge and thought that they would be heading to the east end.....around the corner across from the power plant he headed down to the rocks and then yelled over to this guy "is this your buddys bag?". Guy replied it was but the kid snaged it and took off to the parking lot.....owner of the bag came back riding his bike and the guy told him what happened and the owner of the bag tried to chase him down but the kid was already out of the lot

the kid had black hair (short-sish), camouflage jacket (army canvas material, jeans, and white sneakers....he was smoking a parlamount cig i think......

what a scum bag

Thanks for trying to flag him down. It was my bag, I had moved west about 5 poles and was talking to a friend for about 5 minutes before realized i'd left my bag...crappy ending to what was otherwise a very nice morning. got a bunch of my home made stuff but I guess thats better than a bag of stuff I paid for....

I was in that area as well. Don't remember seeing the punk in question, but I'll keep an eye out.

Buddy of mine had his bike stolen out of the campground last week. I hate fricken scumbag thieves.

Nope, nothing noteworthy mostly just some pencils and spooks I built in various colors but I have plenty of others so no worries there... Just kind of a downer on what had been a very good morning for me (weather aside).

DJ because they're all home made making the ID if he tries to sell them makes it all that much easier if others know what to look for.

All fishermen on the canal should start carrying. Society is much more polite that way.

Sorry to hear that, Dave. People suck. I hope that skinny mack pattern plug wasn't in the bag. That thing had some serious mojo.

Great idea, let's arm every freaking Yahoo who comes down to the Canal on a "breaking" tide. Guys will be OK Corralling over crossed lines and lost fish.

It's a #^&#^&#^&#^&ing zoo down there already, and you guys want to add guns to the mix?

I know a lot of old regulars who won't fish there on these tides, no matter how hot the bite it. And, I've joined them. This is supposed to be fun. I guess if a fuster-cluck is your idea of fun, go for it. Me, I have other things I'd rather do. If I want to get frustrated, I can try to build a #^&#^&#^&#^&ing ship in a bottle.

I don't think it's an isolated thing. I had some guy try to sell me a couple of custom Rainshadow 1209 rods for 75 bucks apiece. he had a few in the back of his station wagon.I let the shops know to spread the word around as I'm bettin they're hot.I build custom rods. can't get the hardware for that cheap.Sad part with the plug bag as there are a few that were in Iraq that wear camo that are good people that will now be eyeballed cause of this dirt bag.Ron

It's not isolated. There are hundreds of pill and heroin addicted kids just in the two little towns along the Canal. Hundreds more down-Cape, and thousands all the way up the South Shore. I've been saying for years that once the local druggies realize that guys pay $50+ for custom wood, and are fishing with $1000 reels, there'd be an epidemic of thefts of fishing gear.

i always see those people with carts and bikes all riged up down there and thought about setting one up, bad back limits me from walking too far, but worried that someone would hop on and ride off as i'm on the rocks.. i wouldnt trust leaving it up there , my fat ass couldnt chase down anyone and too cute to go to jail for shooting a junkie... if it wasnt for the cameras i may take the chance! hope someone get him for ya!

There is talk on another popular Striper fishing site, that there have been a couple of plug bags found. This may or may not be yours, but it might be worth the effort to check it out, in case this "kid" took what he wanted & left your bag behind?
Check out the "Massachusetts" section.
