Fuel problem

I got wet yesterday and today. Yesterday The prop was wrong and I have a fuel problem. My ball gets suck so hard it collapases?? I took the gas cap off the tanks and still have the same problem?? So it is not a vent thing. I came home and put a new water seperator filter and all. Went out again today and the prop I put on works great, but the same fuel problem?? I Have removed one of the tanks (1974 oringanl) And washed it all out and the check vaule fell apart. So I am going to replace that tomorrow. I will also remove the other tank and do all the same. The lines to the motor and ball are all brand new.
Any other ideas??
Engin and all seem to work great other wise.

Sounds like you have a restriction. Check the pickup tube in the tank, or one of the lines might have a peice of rubber floating around causing a blockage?I have seen this on new lines

what mike said an use 3/8 id fuel line, don't starve the motor for gas or you'll fry the motor for sure.

BOAT fish do count.

Macojoe,
adding a new anti-siphon valve on my buddies boat turned an ok running rebuilt Johnson 150, into a great running motor.

Macojoe, those anti-siphon valves will cause your probelm they restrict the fuel line causing the fuel pump to suck the primer bulb inside out. Replace the anti-siphon valves or eleminate then, but beware they are there so the fuel will not siphon out of the tank!!

Thanks all !!
I have just finished pulling both tanks. I am cleaning them and removing the anti-siphon. I have all ready changed all hoses and have a brand new ball. I have just installed a new water seperater and filter. And I have a shut off vaule to turn off the fuel when not using the boat.
I will not be able to get to the water till Mon. so I will finish this up Fri or Sat. Then give it yet another try!! Only 13 days till Fluke season. I better getting it going soon.

Well I got the tanks out and all cleaned out.
In the tank that I was running off I found : 12" piece of Eletric tape, Marine Tex glass tube (catalist) empty, small stainless S hook?
In the tank I was not using at the time I found a 8" long beaded chain, and a hose clamp.
I don't no what the guy before me was doing but I never saw a boat run on this stuff.
I am guessing that the tape was getting sucked up the pick up tube not allowing the gas to come up?? Why did I not have this problem before?? I have had the boat 5 seasons never a problem
Someone had this tank out before because the alummin fitting had a brass fitting conected to it, and no anti-shpion ball. But the other side was all alummin with a ball in it.
Well its off to the parts store again!!!! Need to get one new fitting and some new filler hoses. The old ones were welded (glued) or something to the filler neck and I had to cut the heck out of them to get them off.
I will let you no how things progress
