personal best...thanks to Stripermaineiac

Caught a beauty in the surf. A new personal best. 46". Took some great advice from Ron also known as Stripermaineiac....it really paid off. I did keep the fish and had a big dinner with a lot of friends. I'd like to note that it was the only one I kept and released over 20 other fish. Caught it in Southern Maine off the beach on a clam on 17 lb. mono. Great fight and again, thank you Ron!

tasted fantastic by all accounts. filets cut into portions, seasoned and then fresh herbs and a lemon slice on top, drizzle of olive oil. Baked at 425f for 35 minutes. Top with sauted chanterelles we had hunted.
I've never cooked a large striper but I thought it was as good as the slot fish I've kept in the past.

Congrats on the PB! Nice looking fish.

Clam fed striper, great on the platter. Congrats on the PB

I did not get a weight. It was 46.5" and had a girth of almost 24". Any way to figure the weight from this? Any guesses?

Yeah I'd say 10% on the up swing. 33 pounds seems right if I had to guess. Nice fish

Congrats! Nice fish, nice to have friends like Ron and nice to see some action up in Maine. I love it up there, been going up for about 10 years now with the family. The luck has been dwindling the past few years up Booth Bay area but like I said I love it up there. "Maine the way life should be"!
