That dude is one tough bird. Although, judging by the rest of his band-aided fingers, he's had a bunch of practice. Awesome video, thanks for sharing.

Things done at the last possible minute are done with the greatest possible information. Procrastination is, therefore, the most efficient means of doing things.

Thanks

Very helpful video. This is the main reason I crush my barbs. Swimming out rocks and getting stuck in two places scares the crap outta me!

I did it the other night to my neighbor. He was sufficiently anesthetized by quite a few gin and tonics. FW rapala so it was a small hook. I used a lanyard that goes on a pair of fingernail clippers for cutting line. I did the old , "ready on three?" Yank on about 1.5 he was surprised that it didnt hurt at all. It was throbbing for a while but felt fine in the morning.

Everything is better on the rocks.

I watched this yesterday, never had it happen to me..until this morning, figures. Mine was in the knuckle with the fish still attached. I got the fish off with no damage so I popped it through, crushed the barb and pulled it out. Its much more fun when a fish is hanging off your hand flopping around everywhere. Never hurts to have someone to hold the plug and help out either, thanks Soups your my hero !

Does your incessant whining make you feel better? How about you just shut the hell up and suck it up? It's a fishing forum , so please just stop.

good thing you got that Pro Tip
nice that you got out fishing with soups and actually caught fish

better luck with the unhooking next time, I hope you rubbed some dirt in it, that's what real men do, they don't pass out

I held my own today, in spite of the owner of the canal fishing next to us...quick rinse in the drink and I was back at it.

He didn't even shed a tear. Truely a Man among men. Truth be told, I was more concered about the 58lber, that he conquered, getting back into the water.
