Dance of the Sturgeon

It was something to see this morning. I don't know if it was the rain or what but the Sturgeon were jumpin all over the place. I fished 2 spots an saw well over a dozen of them . Some better than 6 ft long. The stripers were mixed right in with them feedin on whatever it was. They were stunning.Amazing thing to see. Sorry no pics as my camera-ex water proof LOL- got drowned the other day.The mouth of the Dunstan an Saco Rivers both seem to be full of them at times.Had one about 4ft come out of the water about a rod length from me. So if any of you come up this way keep an eye out as the show they put on is something. Ron

LOL, It was Chris. I killed the camera at the graveyard. Was takin a pic of a nice 44 in fish . It flopped an pulled the rod. I tried to grab both an landed on camera. Even after loosin 30 lb I still busted the camera good an the next wave soaked us both LOL.
The number of Sturgeon is way up around here now.I see them every time I do daybreak in both places no matter what the tide.Ron

I love watching the sturgeon jump. People's reaction when they first see them jump is priceless. Hope to run across you one day in the yahd, if you see one of your blue over white pencils in the rocks, that was me.

Hooked one in British Columbia a few years ago. Only had him on
for a few seconds, saw a five or six footer jump and splash, and that was it. They catch 'em routinely 7 and 8 feet long up there;
amazing fight!

I got to watched them for three days in july at OOB. At first I thought someone's parachute didn't open.

I LOVE it when MY WIFE lets me fish
