Superstitions

Went out last night and fish were at my feet chasing bait. The smell of fish in the air was incredible, it hit me 300 yards from the water. I got numerous bumps on many different plugs, but nothing would latch on.
Couple of good size fish followed my plug up to the rocks and splashed away when I lifted the plug out of the water. I should have brought a few eels, but I was a tad lazy and didn't feel like lugging a few slimy ones.

Superstitions:
1. Since I bought a new plug bag last Saturday after a successful AM trip, I have not landed a bass.
2. Every time I bring my fish carrying rope rig I get skunked.
3. I didn't bring eels when I contemplated bringing them... Bad omen for sure.
4. Braid backlash on my conventional on 1st cast

Oh well, I am going out tonight to freeze again. I will bring eels, old surf bag, no fish rope and stretch out the whole line and re-spool it.

This stuff drives me crazy. at least I did not fall last night.

Protect Striped Bass stocks; 1 fish @ 38"
The last few seasons have been great for medium to large fish. Gone are the days of catching 50 schoolies a tide. This trend has been progressively getting worse.

2 Bass at 28" is CRAZY.
These fish have not yet spawned. Give them a chance to produce some offspring.

This time of year is notorious for having that musty fish smell along a quiet beach , all kinds of activity seen on the surface but no bites at all. Why? Cause that's the way it is.

I listen to the theme song from jimmy Houston's show. I also listen to Whiskey River Live from Billy Bobs almost every time I am on my way out

Your over thinking and over analyzing this. It is suppose to be fun and relaxing...so relax. Just fish and let your mind drift off. Gaze into the sky and think about something else, anything but fishing. As soon as your mind is off the coming strike...you will get a solid wake-up hit and pull you from dreams.

Things done at the last possible minute are done with the greatest possible information. Procrastination is, therefore, the most efficient means of doing things.

In fact that is one of the best "secret" techniques.

I heard a VERY wise man once talk about singing when fishing to break up the skunk..maybe he'll chime in here about it.

Does your incessant whining make you feel better? How about you just shut the hell up and suck it up? It's a fishing forum , so please just stop.
