Band saw/drill press suggestions please
Ok so now that i have an area to myself i want to do some hand carves and finish off a ton of bodies I have kicking around. still dont have room for a full set up.
Im looking for some suggestions on a band saw and drill press, not trying to break the bank, just a decent piece of equipment that will see light use in the colder months.
would also buy used if someone has something they are not using.

Just get the simple benchtop models at Homies or Blowes! I have a Ryobi drill press.....think it cost me like $90 new! Worth it! I have a heavy duty benchtop model but the Ryobi is a great second for small work! Check them out! Bandsaws.....they also have some affordable ones in that range as well!

I got an awesome stand alone Delta drill press for 100 bucks on Craigslist a few years back . Thing was perfect, dirty though, and will last a couple lifetimes. A real machine. Probably plenty more out there. Never was in need of a bandsaw as I got one at work but there were lots of those out there too.

I picked some benchtop delta drill presses a while ago. Think on special they were $79 each. Use them for everything. Even through drilling.

I have a small bench top Delta band saw and I love it. I use it more than my 14". I picked it up on C L for $40. As far as drill presses go, I have several. The smoothest is a bench top craftsman. I also got that on C L for around $50. I have a floor model drill press that needs a motor and some cleaning up if you want it....its yours! Give me a call.

Find a Delta benchtop drill press and get a Craftsman 10" 1/3hp bandsaw, it is a Rikon which are great products, cast iron table on it and it is on sale for $169.  |

Chris I love the Craftsman 9" band saw. Had it 6-7 yrs. 165.00. Bench model Craftsman drill press table model. 150.00 Zero issues. Both get more use around the house besides doing fishing creations!!

For the very best lower cost machinery look at Grizzly. Digger went to their PA loation and picked up his equipment and saved a few bucks.
You will get a great piece of woodwroking machinery that will give you years of service and still have a nice resale value.
Look at their site, look on Amazon. Grizzly machinery rocks.

Time, a little knowledge and Craig's list can save you money. Sometimes relatives have better deals though and christmas is coming you will see them, talk it up there are more old tools sitting in basements waiting for a user than being used.

the Craftman 10 inch (Rikon) is a nice tool and a steal when sears has it on sale. You also save the shipping charges by picking it up at the Sears store.
