Here come some easterlies

I see some East to N'east winds coming this week (maybe mid week) and that is great news for the shore fishing down here in the islands. I have always found good bites after steady S'west flow that then changes to a North to East direction. Some how they liven up.

It doesn't always bode well for the mung factor but it isn't suppose to be a blow, just a change in direction with nothing over 15 kts. Makes the east and south beaches heat up.

Anyone have any comments on what it does in there favorite spots ?

Down here people love saying "East is least and West is best"

It's a statement that couldn't be farther from the truth.

Great Point plover report:

2 birds left with the fledge coming in about two weeks.

Come on birds. Fly or die !

YES! I second to that. However, a friend of mine got the 26 in. striper on the tick in the middle. the tick w/ a line can wear ur fingers down. it's hard to surfcast at monomoy.

Funny, some of my most productive fishing has been in an NE -SE flow, especially after days of West flow.

Thus the subject of this post. Clamdigger, I know what you are talking about but HOW have you fished those days ?

I'll tell when I see what others have tried.......

all my best spots face ne to sw on the east side of things. other than useing a gill net, nothing works..plugs, bait, jigs....like tonite, it's going to be flat outside on the water, but u can bet all I'll b doing is burning fuel an haveing a nice ride.

now I don,t even go out on a N/E & proably catch more by not going ///
I don,t even like to dig in a n/e ==I don,t care what time if year ,it just seems to go right thru you//////////
