Here We Go Again...good Luck Mike from Ave Maria
Ok folks it is 10:25 and my fishing partner Captain Mike (aka Bass Master...aka Team Ave Maria) just called. He went out this afternoon and got a good one a little while ago.
Mike bent his oversized landing net attached to a handle scale rated at 50lbs....then his Berkley digital scale is reading tween 48 and pinnedat 50....
My brother and I are off with a boatload of ice to meet the nervous Captain and help him get the thing sealed up for the night....
just like with Dave last week...the wait is on...will another members of opur little web site get his 50....I know we are all rooting for Mike....pics coming late tonight

what a night. capt mike and i went out to try to find some fish in the 40s. little did we know what the fish gods would bring to him. it started. out pretty good we had macks right away. as we were jigging for macks. mike had a bass hit his lline as he was pulling the macks in. . then we were live lining macks. i went to reel it in. and i thought i had a dog fish. but it was a 13lb cod. as the night went on we both said give it 5 min . just then it went off. that rod bent in half. at first we thought he had a 30 or 40lb. but then he kept peeling drag. when that fish finaly got to the top. both of our laws droped. when i neted him the net bent. we put him on our dit. scale he maxed it out at 50plus. i hope when mike brings him to the shop in the am he brakes the 50. i think he will. i wish you luck capt mike

I just talked to Mike on the cell phone - he was out on a charter but like FishChick says - he hit it! He got to the Grail! he got his first 50#er! Way to go Mike!
He also gave me a hard time because when I was at his shop yesterday afternoon - just before he left to go fishing - I had to bag out . He said it probably would have been my turn on the live mac when the fish hit! ARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!

Congrats Mike, the 50 club is getting bigger quickly this spring. You guys are killing me, I'm buried with house work and family stuff and 50's are being caught around my favorite haunts. Save a few for me, finally got the boat back and I'm fishing soon.

I was with Big Mike this morning when he weighed his fish in, and let me tell you it was absolutely beautiful. All 51.7 pounds of it. I could'nt be happier than I am for Mike. He is a great guy and one hell of a fisherman. He deserves all that comes with a fish like that. Congratulations Mike.
Also sorry Mike, but your weigh slip blew out of my Jeep.
Team SeaMonkey, these are for you. So much for joining a team who is destined for failure.

Just in case there is any confusion, Mike was not on a charter when he hooked up. It was just him and his fishin' buddy.
