You sure the "offspring" wasn't a skinny guy in a wetsuit?

highly oxygenated water appears to be an attractant for GW's too
because they don't have to put in as much effort swimming to breathe
and can take a rest....
this is what they were saying on the Shark Science channel
and that it's not the proximity of Swimmer's they're after even though
they're only 150 yards off shore .... as seen by the spotter planes

That would have to be a large mola for a fin that size and they usually are flopping from side to side but what made the white wash behind it?
They are very short for their size and after landing a large one a few years ago that I somehow snagged in the mouth with a tube, I got to watch first hand how they alternate their "tail", kind of like how we kick with our feet, when they swim.
I'm betting mola but who knows. Between all the sightings and watching shark week lately, I'm thinking twice about the added safety of wetsuit V.S. waders....Hopefully coffee urine smell repels them...

According to the newspaper the sighting at Horseneck was someone sitting in a truck with binoculars. Every dark shape in the water will be shark now.

Horseneck beack
Horseneck beach has the worst under-toe in all of New England waters except for the beach close'st to Spain. Get in it and hang on, it will ride you right out to the feeding ground. Too many years have passed sense I was on the lifeguard stand. thank God!
