No, that is accurate. He set the IGFA catch and release record (new category) last year, but submitted a 53-incher a few weeks back to overtake his own C&R record.

I was wondering about that myself
thanks for clearing that up Toby
so he had a catch and release igfa record of only 44"? seems short, but if it's 53" now, that can be hard to compete with, probably fork length too.

if they made that a new category, then maybe they can make a surf caught category as well

The United States Constitution does not exist to grant you rights; those rights are inherent within you. Rather it exists to frame a limited government so that those natural rights can be exercised freely.

It's time more people spoke up with the truth. Every time we let a leftist lie go uncorrected, the commies get stronger.

They provide you with a special ruler and the fish must be photographed multiple times showing the ruler, etc... in order to qualify. I read up on the rules for this category last year after his C&R record was set but can't seem to find them on the IGFA site now.

There must have been some torid comments because many were deleted.............catching a 40 #er must be all too common to him now.
