boat GPS not finding satellite

My garmin GPS MAP 498 on my boat does not connect with a satelite despite hours of searching... last season it would take about 10-15 minutes, but would find it... this year its not connecting at all. worked fine for years.

Everything else work fine. any idea why?

Something new added interfering with the internal antena?

That's my guess

Assuming it's an external antenna. What freak said, that or go on Ebay and you can find a new antenna for like $30 (not Garmin but a knockoff that works fine).

If it's an internal antenna then call Garmin tech support. Easy folks to work with, there is probably a refurb program available.

There's a limit on these?

My Standard Horizon would not lock onto any satellites this spring, it ended up being the antenna, took it apart and could not believe the corrosion inside. Had to replace the antenna.

Almost always the antenna. They don't last very long.
